While addressing a media briefing convened today, D.A. Mihiri Shenali Ratnasekara, the daughter of the abducted D.A. Karunadasa, stated that her father speaks to the members of the family over the telephone once a day.
The wife of the abducted D.A. Karunadasa – A.A.Y. Karunadasa – also attended the event and made a plea to the media to rescue her husband.
68 year old D.A. Karunadasa was abducted by an armed gang last Tuesday.
The armed gang has made a statement that the Italian company he works for should pay a sum of Rs. 500 million to free him.
However, the Acting Sri Lankan High Commissioner for Nigeria E.L Ratnapala stated that the High Commission in Nigeria is constantly intervening to rescue him.
