Heat wave toll in Andra Pradesh, Telangana reaches 223

Heat wave in several parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in India, has claimed 223 lives so far even as people continued to reel under intense heat wave conditions.

According to information received, 128 persons have died in Telangana, and in Andhra Pradesh around 100 people succumbed to the heat wave conditions prevailing there.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials across the state and also party leaders to start camps to provide drinking water and buttermilk for those with sun strokes.

Heat waves with temperatures hovering around 45 degrees Celsius at several places, have been prevailing in Andra Pradesh since the last few days.
