Magistrate court further remand Johnston Fernando; The High Court to consider bail today

The 3 suspects including former minister Johnston Fernando were further remanded until June 8th when they were produced before Kurunegala Magistrate Ravindra Premarathna.

Among the other two suspects remanded with the former minister are his private secretary Sakeer Mohamed and Lak Sathosa former chairman K.M.R.Fernando.

Meanwhile Kurunegala High Court Judge Sunanda Kumara Rathnayake decided to postpone the bail application of former minister Johnston Fernando until 28th of this month when the bail application was called today.

The former minister was arrested a few weeks ago for misappropriating Lak Sathosa funds by removing a stock of consumer goods worth 5 million 275 thousand rupees from its outlets without making any payment.
