Shiranthi Rajapaske summoned to the FCID
Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa has been summoned to the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division on the 1st of June.
According to MP Namal Rajapaksa, she has received the relevant notice yesterday to appear before the FCID in connection with the investigation of the Siriliya Project.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa has implemented the Siriliya Saviya Project as her own social service project.
A weekend newspaper has published a report on the 8th of February, stating that the bank account maintained at Sudu-wellla branch of People’s Bank is suspicious.
The report included the relevant account number, and named S. Rajapaksa, A.M.J.A. Kumari and K.K. Dissanayake as the 3 persons authorized to withdraw money from this account.
The newspaper also reported their addresses as the Carlton House, Tangalle.
The paper also reported that S. Rajapaksa’s National Identity Card number consist of 9 digits of number 2, while A.M.J.A Kumari’s national Identity Card number consist of 9 digits of number 1.
In addition, it also reported that the money deposited in the Siriliya Saviya account amounted to 43 point 8 million rupees.
The organization has been registered under the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations.
