If the Prime Ministerial post needs changes, call for an election - says Prime Minister to UPFA

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that if anyone wants him to resign from the Prime Ministerial post, then they will need to hold a referendum.

He stated this while attending a ceremony held in Kandy today.

Expressing his views further, the Premier stated that the only the will of the people can change his post, adding that the attempt to appoint former President to the Prime Ministerial post is against democracy, as people already rejected him during the Presidential election.

The Democratic People’s Front, under the leadership of Provincial councillor Mano Ganeshan, held their General Summit at Pushpadana Hall in Kandy today.

The Chief Guest of the summit was Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Minister of Plantation Industries Lakshman Kiriella also joined the occasion.
