Parliament adjourns without a decision on Constitution council
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa was compelled to adjourn parliament today until June 9th without taking a decision about the civil society representatives that had been proposed to the Constitutional Council.
The parliament met today to endorse the names of civil society representatives proposed for the Constitutional Council.
Although the political party leaders met twice in the past to discuss this matter, they were not able to reach any compromise.
However, parliament met at 1 o’clock this afternoon but it was compelled to adjourn until June 9th.
