The met department states that the Cyclonic storm “ASHOBAA” in the Arabian Sea has moved away and weakening.

Therefore more showers can be expected over Southwestern part of the country.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Thundershowers will develop at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces during the afternoon or evening.
