22 Minor parties including the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress are expected to meet today to discuss the new electoral system.

General Secretary of the SLMC Hassan Ali stated that they needed to appoint Muslim representatives to parliament to make up at least 10 percent of the composition.

SLMC Leader Minister Rauf Hakeem stated that they would file action at the Supreme Court if their suggestions on the 20th amendment were not considered.

However, Leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance Mano Ganeshan stated that they accept the Cabinet endorsed proposal to increase the number of parliamentary seats to 237.
