An action plan to improve the goodwill of SLFP leaders
The SLFP has decided to prepare an action plan for intensifying the goodwill among the SLFP leaders in the future as unity of the SLFP is tantamount to UPFA victory.
Issuing a communiqué UPFA general secretary and former Minister Susil Premajayantha said that a special committee comprising SLFP representatives had been appointed for implementing this plan.
A special meeting comprising SLFP MPs, electoral organizers, provincial councilors and organizations affiliated to the SLFP was held in Colombo yesterday.
That was under the patronage of President Maitripala Sirisena.
In the communiqué issued about the decisions taken at the meeting the UPFA general secretary said further that this committee included Chief Opposition Whip John Seneviratne, SLFP general secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, and MPs Kumara Welgama, T. B. Ekanayake and Dilan Perera.
Expressing his views to our news team after the meeting, SLFP media spokesman, MP Dilan Perera said that if the UNP cannot continue to govern, it should hand it over to the UPFA and step down.
