Minister Rajitha's statement incorrect: Statement from member of 6 member committee appointed over the matter, Premajayantha
MP Susil Premajayanth says that the statement Minister Rajitha Senaratne made to the effect that the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would not be given the prime ministerial candidacy, a parliamentary seat from the National List, or nomination is not a truthful statement.
MP Susil Premajayanth, a member of the six member committee appointed for coordination between the former president and the current president said that statements made by individuals outside the committee could not be accepted.
However, cabinet spokesman, Minister Rajitha Senaratne said at the media briefing on cabinet decisions held yesterday that President Maitripala Sirisena had said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would not be given the prime ministerial candidacy, a parliamentary seat from the National List, or a nomination.
In response to our query from SLFP national organizer and coordinating member MP Susil Premajayanth with regard to this, the MP said that there is no truth in the statement made by Minister Rajitha Senaratne.
