The 6-member committee appointed to coordinate between former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Maithripala Sirisena met the President for the first time to discuss matters with regard to the forthcoming general election.
One of the committee members, Dilan Perera said the discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat was concluded today on a successful note.
However, he said that the statement made by Cabinet Spokesman Rajitha Senarathna was proved a lie during the meeting with the president.

SLFP Media Spokesman Dilan Perera quoted the president as saying that the President did not meet minister Senarathna.
He also said the committee met the president for the first time today.
Meanwhile, addressing the media in Matara today, former minister Dallas Alahapperuma said that disciplinary action should be taken against minister Senarathna for making false statements.
