Former Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia denies the allegations

Former Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga charged with regard to the death of Noel Ranaweera who had served at the Sri Lankan embassy in Russia and with regard to supplying weapons to Ukraine rebels refutes the charges.

That was in a special media release.

In the release he emphasizes that no crime investigation is taking place in Ukraine with regard to him.

The Ukraine government does not accept these false charges.

Similarly the Ukraine Ambassador in India has informed Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera as well as the Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary that the charges concerned were false.

Former Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga has stated in the media release that even currently he was living in the city of Kiev, the Ukraine capital.
