Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who received treatment at a private hospital after being released on bail, left the hospital today.
It is reported that later former minister Rajapaksa met former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa’s media unit stated that future political affairs were discussed in depth during the meeting between the two.
Meanwhile, former Minister Rajapaksa was also scheduled to attend parliament today.
Basil Rajapaksa was arrested and remanded, but released on strict bail on June 15th.
Former Minister Basil Rajapaska was arrested in connection with a financial fraud of Divineguma Department and remanded, while his application for bail was examined by the Colombo High Court on the 15th of this month.
Colombo High Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena ordered the release of the former minister on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and 4 personal bails of Rs. 1 million each.
In addition, the High Court Judge also banned him from leaving the country.
Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa left the island following the Presidential Election and returned to the island on the 21st of April.
He was arrested on the following day under the relevant allegations.
