Hakeem has no understanding of good governance - says Minister Rajitha
The Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Rajitha Senarathna said that SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem ought to have some understanding about good governance.
Minister Senarathna commented this while referring to a ‘backroom clique’ mentioned by Minister Hakeem during his speech in parliament yesterday.
Journalists also enquired from the Cabinet Spokesman about his statement he made at the previous media briefing with regard to the discussions to offer Prime Ministerial candidacy to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
In response, he stated that these are all political lies, and that a political journey cannot be made while holding two different stances.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet sub-committee has approved to pay the salary allowance proposed for the government executive officer in the interim budget with effect from July 1st.
The Executive officers would obtain salary allowances between Rs. 3000 to 15,000 according to their term of service.
At the same time, it was decided to present the gazette to parliament which was issued banning the import of Glyphosate.
The Cabinet spokesman further said that approval was given to launch an on-call ambulance medial service in the country which is similar to that of a system currently popular in India.
Cabinet has also approved to grant a Rs. 500,000 insurance scheme for judges of different courts.
