78 Lankans who attempted to illegally migrate to Australia arrested

Navy seized a vessel with 78 Sri Lankans on board who were attempting to illegally migrate to Australia.

According to Navy Media Spokesman, Commander Indika de Silva stated that the vessel was seized early this morning 65 nautical miles away from the Kirinda maritime border.  

17 Sinhalese and 59 Tamils were among the passengers.

The Navy Media Spokesman further stated that the vessel will be taken to the Galle Port.
