The statement made by Police Media Spokesman about a connection between Wele Suda and parliamentarian R. Dumindha Silva, a political mudslinging – Investigations reveals…!!!

Senior DIG in charge of Western Province Pujitha Jayasundara informs the National Executive Council.

It was revealed that the statement publicized by Police Media Spokesman that there was a connection between parliamentarian R. Dumindha Silva and Wele Suda, turned out to be mere political mudslinging.

This was cleared by a revelation made to the media recently by Tamil Progressive Alliance leader and Western Provincial Councilor Mano Ganeshan.

The National Executive Council was set up under the 100 day program of the current government.

President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered police to divulge investigations in connection with Wele Suda before the Executive Council.

On a previous occasion, the National Executive Council has summoned Senior DIG in charge of Western Province Pujitha Jayasundara to make inquiries about Wele Suda.

The progress of the investigations in connection with Wele Suda was queried by the Executive Council.

Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake questioned the current position of the investigations on the statement made by Wele Suda with regard to parliamentarian R. Duminda Silva.

At that point, Senior DIG Pujitha Jayasundara informed that a full investigation was carried out and the evidence clearly leads to political mudslinging as there was no connection between MP R Dumindha Silva and Wela Suda.

Soon after this statement was made, National Executive Council member Wickramabahu Karunarathna questioned why a media conference was called and why the Police spokesperson mentioned regarding MP R Dumindha Silva, especially since he is a prominent public figure and a politician and the behavior of the Police spokesperson is a grave injustice towards the parliamentarian.

Wickramabahu Karunarathana also pointed out that a controversial situation occured in the society after police issued this statement, and a wrong perception was also created in the minds of the people.

National Executive Council Member Wickramabahu Karunarathna questioned Senior DIG Pujitha Jayasundara as to why police do not correct their mistake that had created a wrong impression in the society

It has now been confirmed that there were neither any evidence nor any inkling available to prove any connection between parliamentarian R. Dumindha Silva and Wele Suda.

Besides, MP R. Duminda Silva was questioned by the CID for 4 days for 8 hours a day, and the MP repeatedly told that he doesn’t know a person called Wele Suda, nor he has heard about such a person.

Look below the revelation made by Leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and Western Provincial councilor Mano Ganeshan regarding this during Hiru Hard Talk segment.
