Is there a fear about Mahinda contesting; a question addressed to the UNP
Former Minister T B Ekanayaka states that former President Mahinda Rajapakse will contest during the next General election from the UPFA under the leadership of the SLFP.
While making a special statement at Medamulana yesterday, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that he is ready to contest the upcoming General Election.
However, the former President or any MP who was present did not divulge under which party the former President intends to contest.
Several former ministers, state officials and large crowds were gathered at Medamulana when former president Rajapaksa made the special statement at 11.20 last morning, after the Poya Day Dharma sermon was concluded.
Speaking to our news team T B Ekanayaka stated that former President Mahinda Rajapaske will commence his election Campaign on the 9th from Anuradapura.
Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage states that the UNP is in fever following the announcement made by Former President Mahinda Rajapakse.
However former UNP MP P Harrison holds a different opinion.
