Indian Supreme Court Judge says Rajiv's murderers should be released
Indian Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju says that it is time to release the 7 convicts including the LTTE members who were imprisoned in connection with the murder of Former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The former Chairman of the Indian Press council and Supreme Court Judge stated that it was not fair to imprison the murderers of Rajiv for 24 years.
The Supreme Court judge further stated that he is not trying to justify the murder of Rajiv, however, his move of sending the Indian Peace Keeping Forces to Sri Lanka was not justifiable.
3000 IPKF soldiers died in the war, while many Sri Lankan Tamil people also lost their lives.
The court action should not only be sensitive towards the law.
While expressing his views regarding the murderers of Rajiv, Justice Markandey Katju stated that justice should be meted out for everyone.
