Thissa Aththanayaka anticipates UPFA national list post; Be patient; says Somawansa Amarasingha
The former UNP General Secretary and former MP Tissa Attanayake said that he applied for a MP position under the UPFA national list.
He further said that the final decision with regard to UPFA national list would be announced at 12 noon today.
Thissa Attanayake crossed over during the last presidential election to support former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, and later appointed the health minister of Rajapaksa government.
In addition, former JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe announced that he would contest the forthcoming general election from Kalutara district under United National front for good governance.
When our news team contacted Somawansa Amarasingha to find out regarding the manner in which he is going to contest, he stated that he is waiting for the final decision until 12 noon.
Although the JHU had decided to contest separately by changing its name and election symbol, it signed an agreement with the UNP yesterday to contest under United National Front for Good Governance.
