Leaders of the United National Front for Good Governance led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic today to receive the blessings of the Buddha before the launching of their election campaign.

The UNF delegation was received by the Chief Custodian Nilanga Delebandara.

Ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka, Arjuna Ranatunga, Lakshman Kiriella, Rajitha Senarathna, Ravi Karunanayake and UNP President Malik Samarawikcrama were among the delegation.

After participating in religious activities, the UNF delegation led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe paid a courtesy call to the Malwathu Chief Prelate Most Venerable Tibbatu-waawe Sri Sumangala Thera.

During his discussion with the Nayake Thera, the premier stated that his goal is to implement the good governance program and increase the country’s economic growth.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe pointed out the need of a strong government to achieve his goal.

The Chief Prelate also stated that he has a good understanding of such goals. 

Meanwhile, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa also engaged in religious activities at the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic to receive the blessings of the Sacred Tooth Relic. 

Addressing the gathering later, he said that the government servants are facing a lot of problems, as more than 500 government servants have been questioned concerning various matters.

United National front for good governance leaders led by the Prime Minister pay a courtesy call on Malwathu Chief Prelate

Leaders of the United National Front for Good Governance led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic today to receive the blessing of the Buddha before their election campaign is launched.

The United National Front for Good Governance delegation was received by the Chief Custodian Nilanga Delebandara.

Ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka, Arjuna Ranatunga, Lakshman Kiriella, Rajitha Senaratne, Ravi Karunanayake and UNP Chairman Malik Samarawickrama accompanied in the delegation.

After participating in religious activities, the UNF delegation led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is having a discussion with the Malwatu Chief Prelate.

After participating in the inaugural UNP election rally in Kandy this afternoon, the delegation expect to pay a courtesy call on the Asgiriya Chief Prelate as well.
