Two out of the three fishermen who went missing after setting sail from Kandakuliya in Kalpitiya, Puttalam have been found today.

According to the Police Media spokespersons office, the two have been rescued by another fishing vessel and brought ashore.

Police media spokesman’s office further stated that a search operation is currently underway in collaboration with the Navy to search for the other missing person.

A relative of the missing person stated that the victim cannot swim, therefore he may have drifted apart from the other two.

The two rescued fishermen were admitted to Kalpitiya Hospital for initial treatment and later transferred to Puttalam General Hospital.
