The Government Printer Gamini Fonseka told our news team that the printing of ballot papers commenced on the 15th of this month.
The Department of Election has provided facts to be included in the ballot papers for 18 districts.
Meanwhile, the Government Printer stated that the lengthiest ballot paper has been printed for Batticaloa district.
He added that this ballot paper is 29 to 30 inches in length.
Government Printer Gamini Fonseka reiterated that the second lengthiest ballot paper was printed for Colombo district, which could 24 to 25 inches in length.
However, these ballot papers have not obtained the approval of the Election Commissioner so far.
The Government Printer also stated that additional officers have been deployed to the Classified Division of the Government Press for printing ballot papers.
Meanwhile, Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya attending a recent media conference stated that he has provided special telephone numbers for the public to inform regarding persons who breach election laws.
