Estimate of expenses for Police during GE amounts to Rs. 400 million

It has been estimated that a sum of Rs. 400 million would be spent for deploying police officers from the first day of accepting nominations for General Election until the following day of the election.

The estimation has been submitted by the Department of Police to the Election Commissioner.

According to the estimation, Rs. 120 million will be expected to be spent for allowances.

Another Rs. 50 million will be spent for removing illegal posters, while the expected estimation for fuel costs would be Rs. 88 million.

Furthermore, to obtain vehicles from rental services a sum of Rs. 95 million has been estimated.

In addition, a sum of Rs. 5 million has been estimated for communication expenses, while Rs. 18 million have been estimated for welfare.

A sum of Rs. 14 million is estimated for stationery, and Rs. 1 million for miscellaneous expenses.

In addition, the Department of Police has also estimated a sum of Rs. 7 million for the welfare activities of the counting centres.
