Cabinet spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne stated that 7000 complaints have been filed against the Rajapaksa family, where the investigations with regard to 52 among them have been completed.

He stated this while addressing the media briefing convened to inform the cabinet decisions in Colombo today.

Minister Rajitha Senaratne also made a revelation regarding the seizure of a container carrying ethanol which had been imported by a Distillery company which belongs to a former Deputy Minister of the previous regime from Matale.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the UPFA has to pay a sum of Rs. 142.5 million to the SLTB for hiring buses to transport the participants of their political rallies during the last Presidential election.

The revelation was made following a cabinet proposal presented by Minister of Internal Transport Ranjith Maddumabandara during the cabinet meeting held yesterday.

Accordingly, UPFA has paid an advance of Rs. 50 million to the SLTB to hire its buses during the last Presidential election.

However, the proposal shows that the alliance should pay another Rs. 142.5 million to the SLTB.

It has also been revealed that the relevant bill has been submitted to the UPFA General Secretary, however, no measures have been taken to make the payments so far.

Nevertheless, the cabinet has taken a decision to obtain the due amount by taking legal action against the relevant faction.
