UPFA election campaign crippled without state resources: says the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that UPFA election campaigns have been crippled without the state vehicles.

Speaking during a rally held in Hanguranketha area today, the Premier stated that the current election campaign has become a silent campaign.

Elaborating on the current situation, the Premier stated that women are no longer harassed and party supporter are no longer attacked while returning from rallies.

He also stated that these are the results of the good governance.

The Prime Minister further said that he has ordered Samurdhi officers to refrain from engaging in election campaigns, adding that the responsibility of the police is to implement the law instead of supporting political parties.
