The Election Commissioner has informed the private sector to facilitate leave not less than 4 hours to the employees to cast their votes at the General Election.

The Election Commissioner further stated that the leave should be given as a special leave without making a salary deduction.

Accordingly, the Election Commissioner has informed the private sector to give half a day leave for those who required to travel 40 km or less to reach their respective polling booths.

If the distance to travel is between 40 km to 100 km, then the employee should be given 1 day leave, and for a distance between 100 km to 150 km, the employee should be given 1 and half days leave.

In addition, for those who required to travel more than 150 km should be given 2 days leave.
