Nugegoda Chief Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne issued a restraining order this afternoon, against a protest march organized today demanding to reduce the course fees of the Sri Lanka Open university students.

The order was issued after considering a request made by Nugegoda Assistant Superintendent of Police, asking to prevent such processions from taking place during the election season.

Accordingly, the court issued the restraining order in addition to ordering the Police to inform the relevant students and the Vice Chancellor of the Open University.
