Former deputy Minister and UPFA candidate Lakshman Wasantha Perera, who was arrested for allegedly abducting and assaulting a UNP supporter was remanded today until August 6th.

Wasantha Perera was remanded by Matale Magistrate Sampath Gamage after he was produced before the court this morning.

Former Minister Wasantha Perera was arrested this morning for aiding and abetting the incident which occurred in Matale town on July 26th.

Another 4 persons who were involved in the incident have been remanded by the Matale Magistrate until August 12th.
