The postal voting in the forthcoming general election started this morning.

Police officers, circuit and divisional education officials and teachers are permitted to cast their vote today.

Other government officials have been facilitated to cast their vote on August 5th and 6th.

At the same time, officials attached to the Election Department and District Secretariats could cast their vote on August 8th.

Meanwhile, those who may miss to cast their vote today can use their voting on August 8th by forwarding their individual voting card to the receiving officer of the respective district.

567 thousand 291 government officials have been qualified for postal voting this time.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Paffrel Organization Rohana Hettiarachchi said that the postal voting have been held peacefully so far.
