Chief incumbent of a temple in Madirigiriya commits suicide by hanging

A chief incumbent of a temple at Medirigiriya Divulankadawala Kusum-pokuna area in Polonnaruwa has committed suicide by hanging this afternoon.

The deceased monk has been identified as the incumbent of Agrabodhi Ancient temple of Track 5 of Kusum-pokuna.

The late monk had served as a teacher at the Divulankadawala Vidyalaya.

A spokesman from Medirigiriya police said the late monk had committed suicide over a dispute with his brothers.
