38 mortar shells found in an island in Jaffna

Police states that 38 mortar shells were recovered from an island called Puwarasm situated between Jaffna and Kilinochchi.

Jaffna police stated that the shells were recovered following a tip off received from the fishermen.

Officers of the special task force destroyed all the mortar shells.

Police also stated that a stock of iron was also recovered in the island.
