Two passenger trains derailed last night while crossing a bridge near Harda in Madhya Pradesh.

A team of rescue workers and the locals have rushed to the spot and over 300 people have already been rescued.

They have recovered four bodies but this has not been officially confirmed.

Unconfirmed reports said the rain had damaged the bridge, which is suspected to be the cause of the derailment.

Meanwhile, at least 178 people have been killed in recent days by flooding across India.

Floods and heavy rains have affected an estimated 10 million people in both western and eastern India.
