7 children escaped from a children’s home in Bandaragama taken in to police custody

7 boys who escaped from a children’s home of Atalugama in Bandaragama have been taken into police custody.

The boys had fled the home early this morning.

A patrolling police team which spotted the children waiting in Bandaragama town has taken them into custody.

The caretaker of the particular children home has also been called to police following the incident.

Initial investigations revealed that there is no dispute about the basic amenities provide to children by this home.

The children have told police that the fled the foster home in order to visit their own homes.

Police Media spokesman’s office stated that steps would be taken to return the boys to the foster home after they are produced before Horana Magistrate.
