Those who were eligible to cast Postal votes but failed to do so could cast their votes on the 11th of this month.

According to the Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohammed, they can cast their votes from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm at the District Returning Offices on the 11th. 

The postal voting with regard to the General Election was held in 3 phases where police officers and teachers including officers attached to the education services cast their votes on the 3rd. 

Other government officers cast their postal votes on the 5th and 6th. 

In addition, officials attached to the Elections Department and the District Secretariat cast their postal votes yesterday 

Meanwhile, the Additional Election Commissioner also stated that 9,537 internally displaced persons are eligible to vote for the forthcoming General Election at a different location.

Accordingly, they are facilitated to cast their votes at 17 polling booths in Puttalam as well as 1 polling booth in Anuradhapura.
