The body of the driver of former Minister C.B. Rathnayake was found today in the official residence of the former Minister in Colombo 7.

Police Media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the driver had committed suicide by taking poison.

Former Minister Rathnayake’s driver was reported to be missing since the former minister’s private residence on Subadra Mawatha in Madiwela was gutted by a fire on August 1st.

It was revealed that the deceased, before taking poison, had written to his wife saying that he was distressed for being suspected for causing the fire.
