Financial grants to be provided for underprivileged schools under the new regime – PM #GenElecSL
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that underprivileged schools would be provided with financial grants by his future government.
He stated this at a public rally held in Kekirawa yesterday.
The Premier also elaborated that they would allocate 6% out of GDP to uplift the Education, make 13 years of education compulsory.
He also reiterated that it is the duty of the teachers to provide education to the children.
Therefore, apart from the duties related to the education or election, they cannot be involved in any other work.
Meanwhile, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the current government has chased away prospective investors and invited the underworld instead.
He stated this at a public rally held at Ratnapura yesterday.
In addition he said that, if the situation prevails, this would affect the businessmen in Colombo and Ratnapura.
Meanwhile, JVP questioned how former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would win the forthcoming general election when he failed to win the last presidential election where he received the support of the military, state mechanism and even the services of the exorcists.
JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated this at a public rally held in Nugegoda yesterday.
