Two people have died in motor accidents which took place in the Dambulla Kakirawa area.

According to the Police Media Spokesperson, a pedestrian died, after a motor vehicle knocked him down while he was crossing the Dambulla Kakirawa road, in the Aelagamuwa area.  

The victim was 70 years of age.  

In addition, a cab which was travelling along the Anuradhapura Kakirawa road, near the 109 kilometre post, knocked down a woman who was crossing the road.

The woman, who was 67 years of age, succumbed to her injuries.
