No agreement with any faction on Federal system - Reiterates Prime Minister Ranil
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe reiterated that he has not signed any agreement with regard to a federal system nor did he sign an accord with the Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran in 2005.
Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today, the premier said that the UNP would secure a comfortable victory in the forthcoming general election.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe also answered to questions raised by journalists during this media conference.
At the same time, issuing a communiqué this afternoon, the prime minister stated that his government has prepared conducive environment for the election commissioner and his officials to hold a free and fair election on August 17th.
The Prime Minister, in his communiqué further requested the cooperation particularly from his party supporters and the public in general, to continue this peaceful environment even after the Election Day.
Meanwhile, several coalition leaders of the United National Front participated in the media conference held today under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Addressing the media, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa too should vote for the UNP in the forthcoming general election.
