UNP is leading the Election
The number of parliament seats entitled to each district of 13 districts where the total election results were already released has been announced.
Accordingly, UNP has secured 43 parliament seats while UPFA has secured 45.
Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi has secured 6 seats while JVP has won 2 parliament seats.
Accordingly, UNP obtained 118,845 votes from the Polonnaruwa District to secure 3 parliamentary seats.
UPFA obtained 134,497 votes to secure one parliament seat from the Polonnaruwa District.
JVP obtained 13,497 votes to secure no seats.
UPFA won the Minneriya electorate while Medirigiriya and Polonnaruwa electorates were won by UNP.
Meanwhile, UPFA obtained 229,856 votes from the Anuradhapura District to secure 5 parliament seats while UNP obtained 213,072 to secure 4 parliament seats in the Anuradhapura District.
JVP was able to obtain 28,701 from the Anuradhapura District and failed to secure any seats.
The Alliance won the electorates of Kalawewa, Anuradhapura North, Anuradhapura West, Medavachchiya and Mihintale while UNP secured power of the Horowpathana and the Kekirawa electorates.
The UPFA was able to obtain a total vote of 196,980 to secure 4 parliament seats from the Hambantota District while UNP obtained 130,433 votes to secure 2 parliament seats.
Meanwhile, JVP obtained 36,527 votes to secure one parliament seat from the Hambantota District.
The Alliance won all the 4 seats of the Hambantota District namely Tissamaharamaya, Mulkirigala, Tangalle and Beliaththa.
The alliance was also able to win 5 parliament seats from the Matara District by obtaining 250,505 votes.
UNP obtained 186,675 votes to secure 3 parliament seats and JVP failed to secure any seats from the Matara district.
However JVP obtained 35,270 votes.
The UPFA won the electorates of Akuressa, Kamburupitiya, Deniyaya, Hakmana, Weligama and Devinuwara while UNP claimed the victory of Matara electorate.
At the same time, UPFA obtained 312,518 votes from the Galle District to secure 6 parliament seats while UNP obtained 265,180 votes to secure 4 seats.
JVP failed to secure any seats from the Galle District.
UPFA won the electorates of Akmeemana, Baddegama, Karandeniya, Balapitiya, Rathgama, Bentara Elpitiya, Habaraduwa and Ambalangoda. However UNP secured the power of the Galle electorate.
Meanwhile Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi obtained 207,577 votes to secure 5 parliament seats from the Jaffna district.
EPDP obtained 30,332 votes to secure one parliament seat while UNP obtained 20,025 to secure one seat from the Jaffna district.
UPFA failed to secure any seats from the Jaffna District.
Meanwhile Akila Ilangai Tamil Congress obtained 15,022 votes to claim the fifth place but failed to secure any seats.
It is significant to win the electorates of Vaddukoddai, Manipay, Kopay, Kankasanturai, Point Pedro, Nallur, Kytes, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Chavakachcheri and Uduppili by Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi.
At the same time, UNP obtained 83,638 votes to secure 2 parliament seats from the Trincomalee District while Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi obtained 45,894 votes to secure one parliament seat.
UPFA also secured one parliament seat by obtaining 38,463 votes from the Trincomalee District.
The Muttur electorate was won by UNP while the Seruwila electorate was won by the alliance. Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi won the Trincomalee electorate.
Meanwhile, UNP won the power of the Badulla District.
UNP obtained 258,544 votes to secure 5 seats while UPFA obtained 179,459 votes to secure 3 parliament seats.
JVP obtained 21,445 votes and failed to secure any seats from the Badulla district.
It is significant for UNP to win all the electorates in the district including Badulla, Haputale, Welimada, Viyaluwa, Hali Ela, Uva Paranagama, Bandarawela, Mahiyanganaya and Passara.
At the same time, UPFA leads in the Moneragala district by obtaining 138,136 votes to secure 3 parliament seats.
UNP secured 2 parliament seats by obtaining 110,372 votes while JVP obtained 13,626 votes from the Moneragala District without any seats.
The Alliance secured power in all three electorate namely Wellavaya, Bibile and Moneragala.
Meanwhile, UPFA obtained 323,636 votes to secure 6 parliament seats from the Ratnapura District.
UNP obtained 284,117 votes to secure 5 parliament seats from the Ratnapura District.
JVP was unable to secure any seats from the Ratnapura District as well.
The electorates of Kalawana, Ratnapura, Nivitigala, Kolonna and Eheliyagoda were won by the alliance while UNP claimed the victory of Rakwana, Balangoda and Pelmadulla electorates.
