A ceiling should be set for candidates’ campaign cost; Certain candidates have spent 500 thousand Euros; reveals international monitors
It is revealed that certain candidates have spent about € 500,000 on their propaganda campaigns for the 2015 General Election.
This was revealed during the media conference convened in Colombo today by the international observers who are here to monitor the general election.
The international monitors insisted that there should be a ceiling of expenditure to each candidate’s propaganda campaign.
Asian election monitoring network, Commonwealth election monitoring association and European Union election monitoring delegation participated in this media conference today.
Chairman of the Asian Election Monitoring Network Damazo McBuel, Chairman of the Commonwealth Election Monitoring Association George Abela as well as the Chief Monitor of the European Union’s election monitoring delegation Christian Freda made these revelations at the media conference.
