The Central Working Committee of the SLFP granted President Maithreepala Sirisena approval to form a national government.
The central working committee of the SLFP met this morning at the official residence of President Maithreepala Sirisena.
During the meeting, a committee headed by former president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga was appointed to facilitate the building of a national government in the future.
Nimal Siripala de Silva, Susil Premajayantha, S.B. Dissanayake, Sarath Amunugama and Mahinda Samarasinghe are the other members of this committee.
When journalists asked about the changes of the party office bearers, minister Dissanayake said that the central working committee has endorsed the decisions taken by the president.
Journalists also enquired about the ministerial positions of a national government to be formed in the future.
