The body parts of the young woman of Maddepathana in Ampitiya, Kandy who is believed to have died after getting a makeup application, have been sent to the government analyst.
The post mortem of the body was held by senior judicial medical officer of the Kandy General Hospital M. Shiva Subramaniam at the Kandy police mortuary.
After getting her makeup done from a beauty parlor in Tennekumbura, the victim reported for duty.
The factory manager of the victim’s work place stated that the girl fell ill 30 minutes after she reported for duty.
Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera stated, the girl died after she was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Sri Lanka Dermatologists Association Dr. Janaka Akarawita said that certain people could get allergic reactions to certain cosmetic applications.
Several fatal incidents of this nature were reported in the past as well.
Dr. P.A. Priyangani of Nawala died in August last year after receiving beauty therapy from a Salon on Visakha road in Bambalapitiya.
Another woman died in the same year after she obtained treatment for breast cancer operation from a beauty care center of Malambe.
