Update : Reports of 2 SLFP committees inquiring about the National Government submitted to President
The members of the two committees President Maitripala Sirisena had appointed for setting up a National Government submitted the two committee reports to the President last afternoon.
Subsequently after a brief discussion held between President Maitripala Sirisena and committee members it was decided to discuss again about the contents of the reports at 2 p.m. today.
The President yesterday appointed an 8-member committee headed by MP John Seneviratne for obtaining the SLFP MPs’ views with regard to future action as a national Government.
Similarly at the SLFP Central Committee meeting held last forenoon, a six-member committee headed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike was also appointed for formulating the future action necessary for setting up a national Government.

The president has appointed an 8 member committee to obtain opinions of SLFP MPs on how to work as a national government in the future.
The committee report is expected to be submitted to the President within 24 hours.
The committee is presided by John Seneviratne and other committee members are: Nimal Siripala de Silva, Susil Premajayantha, Chamal Rajapaksa, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Kumara Welgama.
Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is appointed as the Secretary of the committee.
