Former Minister T.B. Ekanayake stated that he too has received a letter today stating his removal from the UPFA Executive Council.

The relevant letters have been signed by the General Secretary of SLFP Duminda Dissanayake and General Secretary of the UPFA Professor Wishwa Warnapala.

Previously former Ministers Kumara Welgama, S.M. Chandrasena and Pavithra Wanniarachchi were also removed from the Executive Council of the UPFA.

Previously former Ministers S.M Chandrasena and T.B. Ekanayake were removed from the SLFP Central Working Committee.

In addition, former MPs Bandula Gunawardena, Rohitha Abeygunawardena and Salinda Dissanayake were also removed from the Central working committee, however, they do not represent the UPFA Executive Council.
