Sudden death of a youth was reported to our news team, during the final phase of a Korean job training conducted at a training centre in the Foreign Employment Bureau in Athurugiriya.
The deceased youth is 23 year old Nuwan Dahanayake from Angunu-kola-pelassa area in Hambantota.
The youth who passed the last Korean language proficiency exam arrived at the training centre at the Foreign Employment Bureau on the 20th of this month, together with several cousins who were also qualified for the training.
After attending the first lecture, he has visited the sports ground of the centre for exercise.
After jogging few laps, he began to exercise as per the instructions of the coach.
However, at that time Nuwan Dahanayake had suddenly collapsed.
Later his cousins who participated in the training session told our news team that no measures were taken to remove him from the place or give him first aid.
When our news team enquired the Deputy General Manager of the Foreign Employment Bureau Mangala Randeniya, he stated that an inquiry is currently underway to find out if the training centre is at fault concerning the incident.
