Update: Gotabhaya Rajapaksa questioned for 6 hours by the Presidential Commission to probe large scale fraud
Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was questioned for 6 hours today, by the Presidential Commission to probe large scale fraud, in connection with a complaint filed regarding Rakna Lanka Company.
Secretary of the Commission and former Parliamentary Administrative Director Lasil de Silva told our news team that the former Defence Commissioner was questioned from 10 AM to 4 PM today to record a statement.
The first allegation of the complaint is with regard to assigning 500 of Rakna Lanka company workers on the Presidential campaign of the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa during the previous presidential election
In addition, the other two charges include recruiting 150 civil security department officers to fill in the 500 vacancies of Rakna Lanka Company and providing them with a different uniform instead of the civil security uniform.

The former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was present before the Special Presidential Commission to probe massive fraud and corruption at 10 o’clock this morning.
He was summoned in order to record a statement with regard to the investigations being carried out in connection with the Rakna Lanka Company.
A complaint has been received with regard to Rakna Lanka Company on three allegations including that 500 of its workers were assigned on the Presidential campaign of the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa during the previous presidential election and hiring out of firearms belonging to the company.
