Government sources said that swearing in of the new Government’s cabinet would take place on Thursday and Friday.
These sources further said that a group of the cabinet ministers would take their oaths on Thursday the 27th and another group on Friday the 28th.
Three ministers of the new Government took their oaths before the President yesterday. Mangala Samaraweera took his oaths as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Wijedasa Rajapaksa as Justice Minister while D. M. Swaminathan was sworn in as Minister of Resettlement and Reconciliation.
Meanwhile former Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that the new Government would have 50 ministerial posts.
