UNP says they have agreed to form a National Government with the SLFP after holding cordial and deep talks with the SLFP.
Releasing a communiqué, the party Chairman MP Malik Samarawickrama stated that both factions had to make sacrifices regarding the matter.
UNP continuously stated during their campaigns for the last Presidential Election and the General Election that they intend to transform the entire parliament into a government in order to form a new political culture.
One of its aims is to form a national government for at least 2 years.
Stating that an MOU was signed with the SLFP recently as per the objectives, the Chairman of UNP also added that priority will be given to the development of the country instead of ministerial portfolios and privileges.
