Kandy Esala Perahera Completed - President Receives 'Sannasa'

Custodian of the temple of the tooth relic Nilanga Daeaela Bandara presented the declaration of completion of the Kandy Esala Maha Perahera festival to President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.

That was at a function held at the Kandy Presidential Residence.

At this ceremony the traditional presenting of gifts and awards by the President to artistes who participated in the Perahera also took place.

Participating in the occasion President Maithripala Sirisena said that the noblest gift that could be offered as a country to the world was the Buddhist philosophy.
