Fake Money Found in Valaichchenai

A person has been arrested for keeping in possession 12 Rs5000 notes, 15 Rs1000 notes and 6 Rs500 notes.

The Police Spokesman's Office stated that the alleged person has attempted purchase of goods with a fake Rs500 note at a shop in Valaichchenai yesterday. Suspicious of the originality of the note, the shop owner had informed the police.

The arrest had taken place shortly afterwards and more fake money which was in his possession was also discovered. The suspect is a resident of Muttur.

He will be produced before the Valaichchenai Magistrate Courts today (31)
